Bring family and friends to watch Tinicum Polo Club play the "sport of kings." Have a tailgate party at the sidelines or sit in the general public tent and chairs. Even the family dog can come - on a leash. What a perfect Saturday afternoon! Matches are held on Saturdays at 2 pm  (see schedule below) weather and field conditions permitting  (sometimes even on a sunny day, the field is too wet for play).  To be sure, call the Polo Hot Line:

USPA events are matches sanctioned by the United States Polo Association. USPA matches usually feature higher-rated players, including professionals.

** Polo matches are always open to the public at $10 per car. For some benefit events, such as Wine + Polo, tickets are sold for admission to special tents, but regular public admission is still $10 per car.

Astride Charlie Chukker, kids swing at the polo ball with long mallet designed for junior players

At half-time, children and adults sit on Charlie Chukker, a metal horse, and take a swing at a ball with a mallet. This gives everyone an idea about the challenges of polo - imagine how hard it is when the horse is galloping down the field!

We encourage everyone to go out and stomp divots in the field at halftime. (Divots are pieces of turf dug up by the horses' hooves.) Divot stomping is a great way to meet the other polo fans and their pooches.

We award prizes at our two tailgate competitions, held on opening and closing days, and at Hat Day, which is July 13. Everyone is invited to join in the fun.   Anything goes as long as it's family-friendly.   Just release your inner ham - join in with costumes, props, decorations, etc.

We hold a raffle at every polo game with special prizes like polo shirts and books about horses. At the gate, every driver is given a raffle ticket (at no charge) and the winning number is called at the end of the match.

At polo, dogs make new friends with other pooches and polo fans.
